Whipped!

Alcoholic WHIPPED CREAM.
18% ACL 375 ML
Ahh, ok who is going to be the first to try this? Brian's Pourhouse? Why don't you dollop your Spanish Coffee's with a little Whipped Lightening action to make it even more tasty. Just don't charge extra for it... Or maybe Henni's Kitchen & Bar, fancy up your adult coffee beverage with a little extra flip to it, make things even sexier than they already are. Or maybe you can dress your chocolate desserts-up with a little whipped up top. A fluffy, buzzy topping.
Whoever does try this, can you let [rediviva] know so we can share it with everybody? (We like to think were speaking to everybody.)

10/29/10 photos!

Click here to see the most fabulous
footage of a party within a photo booth.
Photo booth credit: Jessica Levin and special thanks to Garth Levin for set up and Scott Cook for the equipment.

On 10/29/10 [rediviva] hosted a party at The Windance in Hood River. The Quick & Easy Boys played for more than 4 hours in the living room as Jessica Levin and Garth Levin manned this photo booth all night. If you don't see someone you know in these photos, it's because they were sucked into the Hookah Lounge (that was downstairs) or dancing to the Boys or DJ Swoop
all night.

So much to do, so little time

GET READY: Halloween 2k10

Evolution of a party.
The nuts and bolts are established first: You get a band, a place and a date for a party.
And it can't be helped that art, entertainment and details get added on to this kind of party. There are so many creative people getting involved. It's a fun process to watch grow. It's all real and organic. This is called the 'backwards ad' for a party. The 'poster' will be done, after the party. Who knows what will be added next?

DAY 5: Only in the cartoons, not even Halloween.

We think we came up with the most wishful thinking costume. No matter how much anyone tries, no one is going to exceute the Jessica Rabbit costume. This is one character whose too hot to even come close. One just can't, they can't look as good as a cartoon. No matter how much makeup, sparkly red dress or purple gloves is not gonna look right on a normal person.

DAY 4: Hot geek love

We are touting that animal costumes are the way to go, and not necessarily the animals in heat kind. But still [rediviva] gives a clap clap clap to the geek costumes out there. We like. We like.

DAY 3: Animal costumes are the shit

Octopus' are so alien looking, which alone makes them perfect subjects for Halloween. In honor of Benjamin Benjamin Gallery's OCTOber Octopus show, here is a dress up/costume idea. We know that animal costumes are all the rage anyway. So why not make it an Octopus?

We came across some this amazing artist Slyvia Ji. Her Dia de los Muertos inspired art is just lovely and prickly. It gives some ideas for a possible face painting. Check out her web site here: Sylvia Ji

DAY 1: THANK YOU VAMPIRES

And thank you to those kid's party manufactures in China and where ever else. Because thanks to these inexpensive impulsive holiday toys adults can have fun too. Back in these factories they might not have any idea that their glow sticks are going to an all night rave or the baby pacifier is going to prevent some partiers teeth from grinding from too much cocaine. So new to this list of kid's toys used for adult party pleasure, is this BAG OF BLOOD (TYPE 'X' mind you) It's the perfect 'IV' bag full of 5.3 oz. cherry flavored fluid, that you can promptly drain (or give it to your friend's kids and run) and then fill it back up with 3 oz. cranberry juice and 2 oz. Grey Goose. And the perfect thing about this Vampire induced toy, is that you can enter parties like the [rediviva] 10/29/10 (KEEP YOUR EYES PEELED FOR MORE) or for the HOWL warehouse party in Portland on Oct. 30th, without being dinged for bringing in your own alcohol. Get it? It's just your Vampire blood, that's all. Sounds perfect to us.

[rediviva] stocked up on this Bag of Blood so if you need one when it comes closer to Halloween, let us know. We'll sell it to you for double the price. And of course you'll have to drain out the 'cherry' candy yourself.

Available for limited time at Hood Rivers Rite Aid for $1.49 each

Paddle time with Hang Time

There are two totally awesome things about our area in particular: Wine and wind. So what do you do when one of those basically shuts off after Labor Day? Find a way to still enjoy the river. And that's exactly what Emma Rose Rossof and boyfriend Nick Stewart did last weekend. They combined wine with a water adventure.

They decided to stand up paddle board from Rufus to Hood River, which would take three days and involved camping along the river for 2 nights. Before they launched their journey Emma Rose told rediviva about her trip and mentioned she was bringing along a bottle of wine called Hang Time Rose. She explained that the owners of Naked Winery, David and Jody Barringer, and Dave Michaelec, encouraged two of their awesome employees to start up Outdoor Wino. Emma went on to describe Kelly Medler and Emily Knutson as "two Hood River hotties, rippin' sports chicks who love to play, and love to drink yummy wine." That's why they created Outdoor Wino, which has Hang Time Rose, Huckin' Good (red), with more to come in the lineup.

Besides the sports marketing, the cool thing about this bottle of wine is it's plastic. You can drop it, it can handle getting banged around in your backpack and it's lighter in weight. Emma Rose mentioned that they ended up playing toss and catch with it for fun, because they knew it would never break, even after hitting that rock.

When asked how it tasted Emma who appearantly has no lack of experience describing wine said "The wine was delicious: It was nicely chilled, which took about 45 minutes in the river. It was light, fruity, slightly sweet. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, a little bit of herbs and fresh cut grass. Flavor profile of tart cherry, ripe strawberry, with balanced acidity and nice, smooth finish." Asked if she would recommend she said yes and wished for this 3 day/2 night trip she brought two bottles, one for each night.

Hang Time Rose is available at Naked Winery for $15.
Photos below were taken by Emma Rose during their paddling trip.

Extreme Pole Dancing

Number of strip clubs in Hood River = Zero.
But maybe if it was more like this Indian video of extreme pole dancing, it would appeal to the Hood River demographic?
(Thanks Malcolm for this gem!)
