Pink: Trouble

I bet you haven't heard Pink's song Trouble- but the key is to listen to the acoustic version. It's so nice to hear a pop singers talent without the heavy produced stuff that makes them hard to stand. Wow she can sing. Listen here!

I Didn't Know Mel Brooks Was a Jew

The British Pub is being man handled tonight by Mariva. She called tonight movie night and the winner is Mel Brooks Blazing Saddles. Sitting here live from back seat at the pub, the projector glowing with the classic comedy. Josh, to my left and Kris to Joshs' left.

Josh, let's play a game. Since you're on Facebook, you post on all the Wall's, something like, first person to walk into the Pub wearing a Onesie, wins a drink. In fact thats what were gonna do, but we decided to make it more peresonal, by directing this dare to Pepi Gerald. (Afterall he is online right now) We'll see what happens.

We get impatient so we decide to Wall post saying: If Richard Hallman comes in wearing a pair of men's (or women's) briefs as a hat, HIS drink is on Mariva England. Let's see if that yields any results.

It's been five seconds after that last post, and no one bites yet, so now it's at the point that the next person to walk in and go over to Josh and say "L'Chaim!' again, wins a drink but this time it's on Josh.

NO one is playing our game with us. I think Facebook is broken. Or maybe there aren't many Jews in the area? Ben Burger, where are you?

Mariva is wearing a black beanie, pulled low over her ears. Hair is tucked up into it. Her signature Patagonia grey zip up hoodie.

I just got dared. Josh goes "I dare you to look up the oldest text from me to you." I accept the dare. First dare acceptance of the night. --And it reads: "Ya'll still doing drinks tonight?" Me: "Cebu lounge yup" Josh: "I'm there with a pear. Cuando?" The best in that string is: Me; "Get on the Yacht! ;) Cebu!" Josh replies "Finishing some brillant writing. There in ten."

Ok, now what? Whose gonna answer a dare? What can we say that no one can resist?

Oh WHOA, Mariva just put on the 1987 film Lost Boys. Things just changed. We might even get off the computer and go sit on the couch.

Ex-Pres' to Obama: Tag You're It!

On Funny or Die (.com) you see a sketch of all these Ex-Presidents giving Obama advice. It's great, Chevy Chase, Will Ferrel, Dana Carvey and even Jim Carrey come out to do this. And the best line of all is Carrey playing ex-P, Reagen, saying to Obama played by Fred Armisen
(referring to the mess he was left with as President) "...Tag you're it!"
Worth watching, the All Stars come out for this one. Click here to see the sketch.

Chro-Me-Oh

Chormeo is in Portland Saturday night, at the Roseland Theatre. Check out their video for 'Hot Mess'. Best line ever, 'I don't know what you want from me...I'm not a bloody social worker.' And I sense a little Robert Palmer inspiration with the way the police ladies were dancing and the little black dresses. Classic. Check it out! Click here to see Chormeo's video.

Dark and Perfect.

I stumbled across something today that goes well with my recent obsession of Brett Easton Ellis' books that I've been diving into lately, American Physco to be specific. Lady Gaga did a mix of her new song 'Born This Way' for the clothing designer Thierry Mugler's Men's runway show a couple weeks ago. The dark and strange looks go so well Lady Gaga's style and seemed to fit the personality of Patrick Bateman, whose the main man in Ellis' book American Physco. It all tied to well together, the major use of the black suit, heavy creative makeup and that 'killer' slicked-back hair. Thierry even went as far as a trench coat like covering, that was all clear plastic, a la Mr. Bateman. It seemed like everyone had an influence on each other. You're going to just die for this collaboration if you like the Gaga, Ellis, and or the designer Thierry Mugler. See and hear for yourself. Clic here for the Thierry Mugler Men's Fashion Show.
